Le d\u00e9partement compte deux laboratoires de chimie g\u00e9n\u00e9rale comprenant vingt-six postes informatis\u00e9s ainsi qu\u2019un laboratoire de chimie organique enti\u00e8rement \u00e9quip\u00e9. Elle a ensuite \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al pour obtenir une ma\u00eetrise en chimie (2020).\u00a0 Nicole a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 un projet de recherche portant sur le mouvement de petites mol\u00e9cules de verre induit par la lumi\u00e8re. Elle s'est jointe au d\u00e9partement de chimie de John Abbott en 2020. Murray a \u00e9galement travaill\u00e9 chez Dofasco (fabrication d\u2019acier), Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec (r\u00e9actions chimiques \u00e0 haute tension\/temp\u00e9rature), Union Carbide (d\u00e9sulfuration des gaz de combustion) et Tescult (g\u00e9nie-conseil). Il a obtenu un baccalaur\u00e9at en g\u00e9nie (chimique) de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill en\u00a01981, une ma\u00eetrise \u00e8s sciences de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke en\u00a01986 et un doctorat en g\u00e9nie (chimique) de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill en\u00a01990. Previous to his tenure at Abbott, he taught at Vanier, Champlain, Dawson, and Marianopolis colleges. Murray has also worked in industry at Dofasco (steel making), Hydro-Quebec (high voltage\/temperature chemical reactions), Union Carbide (flue gas desulfurization), and Tescult (consulting engineering). He graduated Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from McGill University in 1981, MScA at Sherbrooke University in 1986 and obtained his PhD Engineering (Chemical) from McGill University in 1990. He obtained a Masters of Education from Sherbrooke University in 2007. In 1999, Sean earned his B.Sc. in Biology from Concordia University and was a graduate of their Science College program.  He stayed at Concordia University to pursue his Ph.D. in Chemistry under the co-supervision of Drs. John A. Capobianco and Gilles H. Peslherbe.  His work entailed understanding the cluster-to-bulk transition of micro-solvated ions.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining John Abbott College, Sean taught classes at Dawson College as a member of their continuing education department and assisted Dr. Bhuvan Pant for a number of years with an e-course for non-science students at Concordia University.  At John Abbott College, he became Pathways Coordinator in 2010 and has been an active member of several program committees (Pathways, Crossroads, Science and Nursing) as well as a long-standing member of the Student Success Committee.  He became a Science program coordinator in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his work at John Abbott College, he has worked closely with the Master Teacher (PERFORMA) Program (MTP), acting both as head technician and as a research supervisor.  He is currently collaborating on a PAREA-funded project, spearheaded by the SALTISE group, to explore inquiry-based learning in Science program laboratories.  <\/p>\n<p>Sean has also been a member of the CPE du Campus board of directors since 2016 and has acted as its President since 2017.
