Szeben, Esther
Esther has been teaching in Information and Library Technologies at John Abbott College since 2016 in the Records Management / Archives Stream and also teaches courses related to computer systems, information processing and management.
She holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Ottawa in Religious Studies and History (1997). With this inclination for research, Esther completed her Masters in Library and Information Studies at McGill University (1999). She has worked as a reference librarian in academic and public libraries and worked as a consultant in records management in the pharmaceutical industry as well as for one of Canada’s oldest companies, Molson Inc. She has also held various positions in non-profit organizations.
Esther is a member of the Quebec Library Association and the Special Libraries Association. She is an active member in the John Abbott community assisting in college-wide programs that include Makers Week, The Plant Sale and Academic Coaching. She has been a member of Academic Council, the Curriculum Validation Committee and Cheating and Plagiarism Appeals Committee.
