Cate Henderson worked for many years in document and records management in the private sector before deciding to study librarianship and archives. She subsequently discovered a passion for working with sound and audiovisual media, working primarily as a Media Librarian for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). She has also worked on projects at other media archives such as Musée des Ondes Emile Berliner and ArcMtl.

She has completed a BA in English (UVic), MA in Music (Open University), and a Masters in Information Studies (McGill). She joined the ILT Department in 2021.
